For more than 20 years, I’ve helped people globally to transform their health and wellness.

I’m a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Certified Lifestyle Medicine Coach, Holistic Health Practitioner, and Certified Light Therapy Specialist who is passionate about all aspects of wellness. I’m also a writer and author, with a focus on mental and emotional health, healing, authenticity, self-love, and self-compassion. Holistic Health: Body + Mind + Emotions + Spirit

My interest in health & wellness began through my own competitive running as a child, (fun fact: I ran in the cross-country Junior Olympics in CA when I was 9). I grew up in New England, and trained as a Physical Therapist at the University of Nottingham, UK, where I graduated with a first class honors degree, and won an award for my thesis on motivational psychology for elite athletes with disabilities. I worked in a variety of settings, from acute National Health Service hospitals to sports rehabilitation facilities, and with a range of clients and specialties, including elite athletes, orthopedics, acute trauma, student wellness, chronic degenerative conditions, rheumatology, geriatric care, and pre and post-natal health.

I was the Managing Director of my own health and wellness clinic for 8 years, where I worked with individuals, groups, schools, and corporations to optimize health and wellness. My overseas experience in the health field has been invaluable, and I gained extensive training and expertise in the field of holistic health.

Throughout my career as a health professional, I’ve always had a special interest in mental and emotional wellbeing. I have witnessed first-hand that beyond physical health in our bodies, the health of our minds and emotions are so inter-connected and vital for wellness. As a health and wellness coach, I specialize in emotional wellbeing, healing from stress and burnout, nervous system regulation, life transitions, and self-compassion.

I founded Luminate Wellness Co to help people live and feel healthier using science-backed, holistic wellness coaching and tools. I am dedicated to continuing my ‘why’ for becoming a health professional over twenty years ago: because I truly care about people’s wellbeing, and I want them to feel less alone, and more connected, affirmed, and supported on their wellness journey.

My Philosophy

  • Optimal holistic wellness is about embracing and nourishing the whole self, rather than achieving the ‘best self’. You are not broken, and never need to be ‘fixed’. You are a human who may be experiencing challenges in your life, and I am here to help you compassionately embrace your struggles, and then healthily process any heavy emotions so you can move forward in the way you desire.

  • I believe that you are the expert of you, that your intuition can help you heal, that your worth is immeasurable, and your dreams are worthy of pursuing. I also believe that taking one small step towards your wellness goals is incredibly brave, and that healing with support and collaboration is vital.

  • Toxic positivity has been used as an unhealthy way to bypass and invalidate people’s real experiences. Hustle culture, ‘mind over matter’, ‘it could be worse’, and ‘no pain, no gain’ philosophies can be harmful without considering the nuances of what someone is going through and feeling. Research shows that validating your struggles with self-compassion is a powerful tool for healing, growth, and cultivating more positive emotions.

  • The field of positive psychology and mental and emotional health is growing rapidly. The tools that I teach for emotional wellbeing are based on the latest research, and I love to break down information that can be overwhelming into easy-to-apply steps you can take today to feel better.
